Live From East Van

It looks like April is starting to shape up, lets all bow down to Mother Nature. It has seriously been the longest winter EVER. I am soo ready to dump my hoodie and Puma track pants for shorts and a t shirt, you have no clue. Tomorrow night I’m going to go to the infamous Number 5 Orange in the downtown East Side. The Number 5 is a huge dump but only 1 of 3 strip bars left in the city of Vancouver. It’s a dying industry (or an industry that isn’t allowed to get their permits renewed after they come up for renewal), I’m not sure which one it is.

Hey’ I’m still a guy, just because I have a blog it doesn’t make me some angel.  Keep your opinions to yourself, blah! Enough for today, I don’t have much to say. I just wanted to upload my photos to Motion Groove.

Today I’m going to work from home, not the library. It’s too nice to be in the library all day long. I want to clean up the back yard a bit, sweep the garage and fertilize the grass. Now doesn’t that sound like fun? You know you want to do it to… Yeah, right!

“Life is full of stop signs and green lights. Make sure you view every situation as a green light to move forward into your journey of life…”

That’s all folks.

Such pretttttty flowers located in front of the Renfrew Library.

I don’t know the name of these flowers, should I? They are in black pots in the front yard, wicked bright colors though.

Miniature Railway & Tim Hortons Employees

First off Happy Easter (whatever that means). ..

Even though the weather was hell yesterday we still managed to get out and enjoy ourselves a bit. If you don’t go out in the rain in Vancouver, then you would probably never leave your house ever! Sooo sad but very true, life on the wet coast…

I snapped a bunch of photos at the miniature railway in Confederation Park in North Burnaby. Those trains are electric I believe and some are steam locomotives, like the one pictured above. It’s funny to see all these old retired dudes wearing conductors uniforms and railroad hats and clothing. I guess it takes them back to their childhood something. The place is insane, I should have taken more photos of the work shed that was full, of all types of train locomotives and engines. Pretty cool stuff, but I’m kinda a train buff you could say, so I like this kind of dorky stuff. It’s like $2 per ticket to ride the train and the ride is probably about 10-15 minutes long.

CP Rail  locomotive, this one is pretty sleek looking…

I always enjoy taking photos of people not expecting it, it’s leads to some dirty looks and funny facial expressions. I went to get my Tim Hortons coffee and had my Canon sd 750 so I had to snap this lady looking all crusty.

“Always fresh at Tim Hortons…”

That Crazy VW Bug On Robson Street

What does Robson Street and a wacked out Volkswagen bug have to do with each other? Absolutely nothing, considering Robson has some of the most expensive shops in Vancouver on them. Robson Street is home to the VW (pictured below) and it parks alongside all types of  luxury vehicles, from Land Rovers, Mercedes and BWM’s. This bug has been on Robson for at least the last 5 years probably way longer.

I actually talked to the owner about the car and he has like 5,000 hours of “work” into. He basically has glued anything he feels will add something to the car. He parks the VW on Robson Street and Thurlow Street and sits outside the Starbucks and watches people looking at his moving artwork. He doesn’t drive it much he says it more of a show piece.

I’m not sure what to make of it, I mean it looks cool and an eyesore at the same time. But overall it adds some personality to a street that is materialism at it’s best. The car is actually promoting a religious message, you can grab a pamphlet on the passenger side door. Don’t ask me what religion it is, I don’t recall. He also takes donations on the passenger door…

The Boat House in Port Moody, Yummy

Tonight was my cousin Marisa’s birthday she turned 40 years old.  We went out to the Boat House in Port Moody which was pretty cool. Overlooking the Burrard Inlet and with tons of windows to provide natural light. I think I’ve been to most of the Boat House restaurants in the Vancouver area. Anyways I snapped a bunch of pics cause that is the cool thing to do if you have a blog, just ask John Chow, or this girl. The first pic is a mad closeup of Andre (cousins husband), haha. He looks damn creepy in that picture, that’s for sure.

Looking at the photos makes me hungry again, mmmmmmmmm.

It’s 11:12 pm on a Saturday night, time to go chill and watch “The Spirit” movie. We just finished watching “Yes Man”, with James Carry and that was pretty funny, now my lady is in bed so I can watch this movie since it’s not her type of thing to watch. How many girls like watching comic characters (Hulk, Iron Man etc…) on the big screen? Not my wifey anways…

ciao,

And Now For Something Completely Different

Saturday we went over to my parents place as we always do on Saturdays for the family dinner. After dinner I went into my old bedroom where I have tons of stuff still sitting there. Anyways my  mom bought these creepy looking clowns years ago, when I was still living there and everyday she would put these clown onto of my bed after she made. Yes my mom made my bed until I left at 31 years old…

So I was sitting on my bed looking at these creepy clowns and had an idea of how funny it would be to take pictures of these clowns and other stuffed animals in various “positions”.  I am by no means into this fetish in any serious manner, it’s a  big joke.

I’m sure there are some sick bast*rds that enjoy this kind of stuff but this is purely a silly joke on my end. If you enjoy this type of thing as any sort of fantasy then good for you, but I personally think you need help.

Anyways enjoy the photos they made me chuckle pretty good as well as anyone who has seen them. I’m not 100%  why they are on my blog, but what the hell you need to have some sort of sense of humor don’t you?
