The Tim Hortons Line Up on Commercial Drive

Today wasn’t very eventful (except for Obama becoming Prez, hooray!), and I had to kick myself in the ass to get working. I hate it when I don’t know what I need to do. So I just ended up browsing around  the web a bit. I ended up finding some blog from some girl in Toronto (Raymi The Minx) who has been blogging for 9 years, and she blogs like crazy. Then my thoughts came back and then the work started flowing FINALLY. I get in these weird moods where I just  don’t know what I need to do next, and working for yourself makes it even harder because there is no one there to tell you what to do next (can be good & bad).

*** Oh and I ended up backing out of a condo that I put an offer on in New West, after me and my realtor went through the strata minutes. Leaky condo, NO THANKS!!

Overall just another basic day (hate this f*cking fog though, ugh)………

Rogers Rocket Mobile Internet Stick Making My Life Way Easier

I was getting sick and tired of going to the coffee shop or local libraries to use their sh*tty wireless internet connections. I guess you get what you pay for right? Well it was about time something came along to make my life easier. I’m not sure how I found about the Rogers Rocket Stick, but I am loving it.
[ad#ad-1]

What is the Rogers Rocket Stick?

The Rogers Rocket Stick will be the wi-fi hot spot killer that’s what buddy. With the Rocket Stick you get wireless internet ACROSS Canada. Are you drunk, no. Unreal right? The Rogers Rocket Stick looks like a USB flash drive, you put it into your USB connection on your lap top and you get wireless internet anywhere in Canada (works best in major Canadian cities). I can work anywhere now. I know this type of technology has been around for a bit but the Rocket Stick is only 2 months old.

Prices?

Actually the price can rival any high speed internet you get at home from Shaw or Telus, but without any wires to worry about. I tried it out and it’s quick (download up to 7.2 Mbps), just as fast as high speed on their competitors.

The prices are based on how much data you download (see below), but you never pay over $100. So basically you can use as much as you want for $100 a month (ulimited internet). This service to me is a dream.

From Rogers:

“Mobile Internet Cost Protection”*. For the rare situations where you may use more than your bucket of data you can still rest easy knowing you will never be charged more than $100 a month in data charges thanks to Rogers Mobile Internet Cost Protection.”

Monthly Fee Data Included Additional Data Rate U.S. Data International Data

$25 500 MB 3¢ per MB $0.006 per KB $0.03 per KB

$30 1 GB 3¢ per MB

$60 3 GB 3¢ per MB

Here is the dealio:

You are locked into a 1 year plan (prices above), but the Rocket Stick is free of charge. Personally, this is soo worth it to me.  Vancouver is one big internet browser to me now, very cool. All I can think is how much more money I can make because I have web access with me all the time. Want more info on prices etc, then go here. I think this is going to blow up and kill of wireless internet cafes. The only thing web cafes have going for them is that you can plug in your laptop into the wall, that’s it.

The next step for me is to buy long lasting lap top batteries. Iwill then  have wings like a bird, freedom baby, freedom!

My “To Do List” For The Week Of Jan 12, 2009

I have talked about writing down goals and the importance of them many times. Well I’m going to jot down my goals for the next week just to keep me focused and motivated at the hand at task.

  1. Focus on making more ad campaigns.
  2. Start getting back in real estate mood and begin looking for the next real estate condo deal.
  3. Begin biking back to the coffee shop (get there by 8:45 AM & leave no earlier than 3:15 PM).
  4. trim the fat off of my pay per click bids (spend less, make more )

This post was basically written as a to do list, sorry folks. It’s all part of my process. I like to have order in my life, it makes me focus on my need to do tasks and achieve my goals much faster. Yeah, I’m boring not spontaneous enough, ha-ha.

Breakation Time

On another note working hard justifies needing a vacation. If it wasn’t for my wife I would just keep working every day…. So in light of a much needed break we are heading to the Dominican Republic to a place called Punta Cana. The hotel is all inclusive, which means you pay one price and everything is included, airfare, food and all the booze you can drink. We are staying at the Hotel Rui Taino. The hotel looks amazing, and they have free wireless Internet in the lobby so I am bringing my laptop, that way I can do a bit of work and keep track of my online business. I’m not the type of guy to lay in the sun for 8 hours a day, BORING……….

We are going for 2 weeks, which is more than enough for me. Once you have been to one tropical place to me they all start looking the same. I have been to Mexico like 6 times, Cuba for my honeymoon and now we are going to the Dominican Republic.

I’m sure being the nerd that I am I will be posting and uploading videos and pictures from the Dominican Republic. I am an Internet junkie what can I say?

January 10 2009 – Back To Snowing In Vancouver

Just when you think the snow is gone, boom it comes right back.  The worst part is wifey is out with the SUV at MetroTown get streaks in her hair. She hates driving in the snow, hopefully the snow isn’t sticking up there (MetroTown)  like it is here in East Vancouver at the moment.

I’m at home babysitting the kiddies (they’re sleeping ATM) and I figured that I might as well  try out the Canon SD 750’s  video feature and film the snow coming down. I know it’s boring but it’s better than filming my ugly mug, haha. I uploaded the Vancouver snow video to YouTube and boom I am set, watch out Steven SpielBerg! It’s actually the same as downloading pics to my computer, just now I’m downloading videos from the Canon on to my desktop then uploading to YouTube.

I actually thought of a good use for the videos. I can start filming the condos I buy so tenants can see everything on video even before they come down and look at the place in person. Seems like a good idea, it’s free technology so you might as well use it right? Anyways this was just really a little test, woo hoo it worked!

I don’t really YouTube video qulaity, they compress it too much and it looks like hell all pixelated and blurry. I may have to try Vimeo.com, much clearer video quality, I don’t YouTube’s video compression….

That’s all for now, Happy snowing, NOT…………..

Happy New Years 2009 From Vancouver

Happy New Years 2009

I would just like to wish everyone who reads this blog as well as all my friends and family a Happy New Years for 2009! I hope all your dreams come true and your lives are enriched with joy happiness and success! Remain positive and good things will come, steer that negative energy away from you!

I had a great night for New Years Eve and today we have the big New Years Late lunch at 2 pm  at my parents place that consists of way to many carbs (lasagna, pasta) and soo much great food. After today I’m back on the low carb diet. I don’t feel like buying “fat clothes” ever again, haha. Bada boom! Onward to 2009 let all your goals become realities, work hard and play hard! So remember to write down your goals, and make sure they are realistic goals cause if they’re not you lie only to yourself and no one else.  Lots of success in the New Years everyone!

What did you guys do last night?

All the best for 2009.
