Investing In The USA Seminar With Ozzie Jurock Happens Today

Today is the LandRush USA Real Estate seminar, yes I will be attending. It’s a 9 am – 3pm full day deal. It’s worth spending my Saturday to get the RIGHT information for investing in the USA real estate market, and probably geared towards housing markets like Phoenix, Arizona and Las Vegas, Nevada.

I am sure I will come away from the seminar with more information. I have seen his predictions in the past and real estate areas he mentioned to buy long before people thought about it. Some of the places, include Yaletown condos in 1999 (going for $100,000 brand new), Burnaby and Coquitlam condos in early 2000 (going for $50,000!!!). Back then I wasn’t isn’t the same financial position I am now, but if I would have bought 5 or 6 Burnaby condos I could be making another $5,000 in gross rents. You have to love the power of passive income, it’s truly amazing.

Anywho since I am on Ozzie Jurocks email list I got this in my email last week:

“There are some 50 condominiums, under 10 years old, fully renovated and there will be vendor financing provided as well. The complex is located next to one of the best golf courses in Phoenix, and – we believe that the price point is excellent!! (Approximately $140,000 for a 2 BR suite).”

I will be attending his presentation on this opportunity next week. Personally I think now is the right time to invest in the U.S.A., and I plan to invest there.

Off I go to LandRush USA…..

The New Beverly Hills 90210

The New Beverly Hills 90210

The New Beverly Hills 90210

I don’t seem to watch much television anymore, everything is usually a rerun or just played out boring crap. When my wife mentioned that they had a new updated version of Beverly Hills 90210  I was stoked. You need to remember I was in my early 20s when 90210 was airing back in the arly 1990s so I was hooked like everyone else in my age group.

Well the new Beverly Hills 90210 aired on Tuesday night at 8 PM. I did check it out and it was pretty cool, for me anyways. It is filmed in the same Beverly Hills high school and yeah all the kids are driving Corvettes, BMWs, Escalades and Mercedes.

One thing I never got is how they cast actors who look like they are in their mid 20s to be highschool kids, what’s up with that?

Oh and they did have a few familiar faces, such as Shannen Doherty who played Brenda Walsh, Jennie Garth who was Kelly Taylor. Kelly Taylor now works as a teacher at Beverly High, and apprantly is a single mom. It looks like she gained a few pounds. And also the dude who ran the “Peach Pit”,  Nat (Joe E. Tat) is on the show! Nat is still running the Peach Pit, he looks a little greyer but basically he looks the same, ha ha.

Watching 90210 with some of the old cast brought me right back to 1995, it was a weird feeling to have. The funny thing is I still watch reruns of the original 90210 sometimes.

I might sound like a cheese ball, but what the hell right? Anyways it’s on Tuesday night at 8 PM….

Photos Of The PNE 2008 Vancouver

I took like 40 photos at the PNE, about 1/2of them are on this blog post. We did the usual PNE stuff ate Luigi’s pizza, bought popcorn, played the PNE games, won stuffed animals, watched the SuperDog show, saw the farm animals (chickens, cows etc), and we saw the daily PNE parade. It was lots of walking but cool to see the PNE through the eyes of my little girl. It seems when you grow up the magic of things like the PNE (and Christmas) fade away. Having kids makes you feel like a kid again. Overall a fun day, and obviously everything we did has been documented with photos, enjoy.

Monday Ramblings On Labor Day

I wish all you assh*les with the blog comment spamming software would get lost. It’s completely useless to spam this blog or any Word Press blog as they have built spam detection. That is my rant for today.

So today is officially Labor Day across North America (not sure about the rest of the world). Seeing that I work for myself holidays don’t mean too much, however I usually take them off and chill. It’s also the last day of the PNE here in Vancouver. I will be heading out to the Pacific National Exhibition with my family this afternoon (even though it’s freezing could out today!).

My Duracell 4GB flash drive died today, it kept saying that I had to format it but when I tried it wouldn’t do it.

I had some data on the Duracall USB drive but luckily I upload my data information to a web server every day, so no big deal. Anywho I bought a new Kingston 8 GB for $20 from Future Shop this morning. I hope this USB flash drive lasts longer than the Durcacell flash drive.

That’s about it, have a good one….

When The Power Fails All Boredom Breaks Loose

So yesterday was my basic day get up then bike ride to the coffee shop, come back, eat dinner blah, blah, blah. Last night I get home and notice the alarm was acting funny, the yellow “trouble” was on. The last time the  “trouble” light came on was when we got back from Mexico to notice our home had been broken into. Last night was a different reason………

I looked around and everything was secured (no forced entry), so that was cool. I asked the neighbour if she had power, nope. Apparently there was a big B-A-N-G around 3:35 PM and then the power faded into the sunset. Personally I think a transformer blew and that is the big bang that sounded like World War 3.

Anyways……

I was like “sh*t now what am I going to do?”. I figured I would be a good husband, since the power was out and clean up, I would vacuum the floors. Um, vacuums need electricity you cluck. OK I guess no vacuuming for me then.

Actually anything that I wanted to do I needed electricity:

  1. Pour myself a glass of cold filtered water, electricity is needed to power the fridge that has the water purifier built into it. Doh!
  2. Check my email, um yeah obviously electricity is needed once again.
  3. Weed eat the back yard since I can’t do the above, oops you need electrical power again bud!

Anywho the list went on of all the things I thought I couldn’t do. I figured I would call BC Hydro (on my cell phone, cause my land line is DEAD) and see what the hell was going on. I got an automated response on the phone with BC Hydro with a message stating they “are aware of the situation and power would be back at 7 PM”.

I get off the phone with BC Hydro and my wife calls asking if I want a precooked BBQ chicken from Superstore. Little did she know that we had no way to cook food and actually the food in the freezer was slowly defrosting. So yeah I want the precooked bird!!

Long story short, I kinda forgot how much we ALL rely on power. It’s pretty scary how life would be without it. Personally I think I have would started rioting on Rupert Street, here in East Vancouver and looting the 7-11 if the power wasn’t on by 11 PM . Oh and the power estimate was off a little, the power came back at 10:15 PM.

Let me tell you how boring it is to have candles lit up, no TV, and watch precious daylight disappear only to be surrounded by dead silence and blackness. Yuck! BC Hydro, you bastards owe me a Friday night!

** PS: We went to the mall to keep ourselves occupied until the power was supposed to come back on.
