Lesson Learned – Watch Your Laptop In Public Places

I just learned to be more careful with my laptop in public places. I like to work outside of the home because I have 2 kids and a wife at home and it’s pretty tough to get work done. Recently I started bike riding to a local coffee shop on Kingsway in Burnaby.

Obviously I have a laptop with me and just plug it into the wall here at the coffee shop and get free wireless internet and away I go. I was always kind of worried about people ripping off my laptop so I never went to the washroom unless I brought it with me. I started getting complacent and leaving my laptop plugged in and I would quickly go to the washroom, and then hurry back.

Today was a well learned lesson

People come and go all day, it’s a coffee shop right? I don ‘t pay much attention to who’s coming in unless they look like junkies. Anyways a guy came in today opened up his laptop and placed it on the ledge facing Kingsway, and he then went to get a coffee just 10 feet behind him. I guess some sh*tbag must have been watching because when the guy came back he was wondering where his laptop was. This all happened 12 feet from and I didn’t see a damn thing, in under 2 minutes.

The guy who stole the latpop must of had some balls to do something like that, he could have easily been caught. He will probably sell it for $250 max, risking his free for a $250 pretty f*cking dumb.

This could have easily happened to me, and now I know better…… Take this is as a warning, it happens all the time. I was lucky it didn’t happen to me.

Back to work.

572/574 Magnus Ave 4Plex Is Finally Gone

Finally, finally! The psycho tenant from my Winnipeg 4plex is out tonight, just got the confirmation from realtor in Winnipeg! I am soooo glad to FINALLY get rid of that money pit, I can’t even put into words. Even though I lost on that real estate deal, I know selling it was a wise decision.  Now I can start buying real estate again.

I haven’t bought anything because I wanted that piece of property gone before I committed to anymore real estate deals. I can now clear my head and move on to better things.  Thank you universe!  smily face smily face smily face smily face

Land Rush USA – Ozzie Jurock Seminar On Investing In US Real Estate

As I mentioned in a previous post that Ozzie Jurock was investing and offering investment properties in the Phoenix, Arizona area. Personally investing in the USA at this point does make perfect sense. First off you have the low US dollar, along with discounted real estate. Those 2 factors combined together make it worth taking a really close look at.

I am subscribed to Ozzie Jurock’s “Facts By Email”, the price is $300 per year and personally I think it’s worth every cent. He holds a few local real estate conferences per year  and he has one coming up in September called Land Rush USA that I will definitely be attending (free of charge to email suscribers). I trust Ozzie Jurock, and I think it will be very informing to all use Vancouverites who are used to paying over $600,000 for a 50 year old home. Personally I am tired of the retarded prices in the city.

Here is a quick except from the email:

With the continuous barrage of questions about investing in the USA, JREI has decided to do a full day Land Rush conference on September 6, 2008 at the Marriott Pinnacle Hotel downtown … 9 am – 3 pm. There is less risk in falling markets and resounding opportunity, but there are pitfalls. We will have 5 speakers with different expertise – from accounting/tax issues to regional variances. Topics on foreclosure and auctions as well as areas to stay away from and areas to buy in will be covered. THINK OUTSIDE THE BORDER. An entire day devoted to issues and opportunities in the US real estate market. THIS IS NOT REAL ESTATE OUTLOOK 2009 WHICH WILL BE HELD ON OCTOBER 4th AS PLANNED. This is a separate US focused event. Tickets are $97. You will be happy to know that FULL subscribers are free, Facts by Email subscribers will be $30. All guests of all subscribers will also be charged $30. MUST be pre-paid. Please register by August 18 … or your seat may be gone. For more information, display booth opportunities, etc. call Marc at 604-683-1111.

English Bay In Vancouver During Sunset

I went out with the family downtown to get some ice cream at Dairy Queen on Denman Street in downtown Vancouver. But then all hell broke loose and Mr M. (my baby son) was crying from our house all the way downtown (he hates car rides). My wife had to feed him in the SUV and while she was feeding him I snapped these photos of English Bay during sunset. English Bay really is striking with the beautiful landscaping and such a great ocean view. That’s about it, enjoy the pics…….

Diversify Or Die – Have PPC Eggs In Many Baskets

eggsPutting all your eggs in one basket, something that many people seem to do when working online. It’s easy to when you find something that is working great why bother diversifying? There are numerous reasons to diversify your online income. If the big money maker you have been raking in $1000s from suddenly dies then you’re screwed.

If the niche you are promoting becomes over saturated by other affiliates then what? You need to think ahead and so do I. Years ago when I first started making money online, I created about 20 sites on different niches ranging from coffee machines, rc cars, cell phones, hdtv and others.  Back then I didn’t pay for traffic like I do now. Instead I used to write content that ranked high in the search engines and I received organic search traffic for me, pretty cool right? Actually it was nice while it lasted but then Google did one of there famous updates and all my organic traffic started to crumble, I still had Yahoo and MSN but eventually it all fizzled away.

I had to adapt or die and I did, this is part of the reason I got into PPC marketing. I needed to make money or what, find a  job? HELL NO!

I’m starting to feel the need to spread my eggs around in different baskets, and this is part of this weeks goal. I am going to start researching new niches, completely different from what I do now.
