Vancouver Housing Prices Going Down Finally

From what I heard on the local Global Vancouver news it looks like housing prices may start to finally come down after 5 years. There is a sharp increase in the amount of real estate listings combined with low buyer interest. It’s about time , Vancouver housing prices have more than doubled in the last five years. I have no clue how a regular person can afford a house in city of Vancouver. My house is now worth about $1000,000, unbelievable. In most other large cities my home would in the $500,000 range, but not here. We have the worst weather (raining for the last 3 days straight) but people love it here. It’s a pretty city when it doesn’t rain, but damn.

I think the sharp rise in gas, along with what is happening in the U.S. housing market, it was just a matter of time before people started to stop buying homes in Vancouver. The inflation rate is going through the roof, scary times.

Anyways, I think it’s a smart move for me to sit on the sidelines while the Vancouver house prices drop, then buy some condos at a lower price. No point buying now if the prices are dropping. Vancouver isn’t great for positive cash flow properties but if you can afford to put down 25% – %35 it can cover itself. Want positive cash flow, then go to Winnipeg and deal with all the crap they have there, been there done that. No Thanks.

Also it looks like I will be getting an offer on my 4plex in Winnipeg, so I can finally rid my mind of that nightmare once and for all. My overall goal is to have 20 properties (house & condos combined) to live off of the rest of my life. Being a landlord is a great way to earn passive income forever. There are no Google changes, no web hosts going down, just me and dealing with tenants. Tenants can be lots of fun, yeah right.

Weekend Ramblings & Goals For The Next Week

Moving my sites over to the new LiquidWeb hosting has been a pain, and I haven’t even tried to transfer this blog over yet. I have never transferred a blog over from one web host to another. I found a few tutorials that should make it pretty easy to move this blog with ease.

For the next week I have a few goals that I want to achieve:

  1. I am going to implement the free pay per click tracking software called Prospero202, so I can cut wasted clicks that don’t convert into buyers. A penny saved is a penny earned, if I cut my pay per click costs that is money in my pocket. Why spend more than I need to, seems silly.
  2. I plan to add to my daily pay per click budget to maximize the amount of clicks I am receiving from my current pay per click campaigns. If you are maxing out your daily budget my 12pm , then you are loosing money for no reason.
  3. I will be expanding more into the niche that is making me the most money. I was trying a few other niches with some success, but it’s always smartest to expand into an area that you are already an expert in. There is less to learn if you already have experience in that market, and your chances of making more money in the same niche is quite high since you are already successful in it.
  4. I will try to lower some bids on certain ad groups to get the best return for the money I spend.

Working Towards A $100,000 Net Per Month

The lack of updates are a result of me working on my $100,000 a month goal. I have been researching new niches to try to find another “golden goose” to give me the jump I need to pull in at least another $500-$1000 day of profit, hopefully I have found it. Now I need to start the whole process of building campaigns, testing and so on. Lots of work ahead for me, at least my income will be coming in nicely from what I’m getting daily so far, while I work on this new money maker.

That’s the great thing about affiliate marketing, you can work the same hours every day but your income will continue to grow and grow, it’s the snowball effect of having so many ads running on Google. Obviously not everyday is like a shiny new penny but overall, you can’t beat this lifestyle. The cool thing about pay per click, if you put in the work it will happen. No office, no need for 20 employees, a laptop with a wireless internet connection and the world is your office.

And the reason I even blog about my financial status is to help to guide me along the way, that’s the only real reason. I don’t really like people knowing how much I pull in, feels weird. I guess if I blog about it, then it’s my fault though lol.

And the goal for $100k? I made it for September 2008, that helps to burn a little fire under may ass. It keeps me on my toes and helps to make me focus more. I was always the kid in school who got distracted easily, and who distracted others from doing there work. Something that I’m constantly working to improve on.

** PS: Don’t forget Mother’s Day on Sunday May, 11.

That’s all for now.

West Vancouver A Magical Place Of Success

The West Vancouver Park Royal Village is a magical place, that probably has the largest assortment of wealthy people in one shopping area. I mean where else can you see Aston Martin cars, Bentleys, Porsches, Mercedes, BMW’s etc all in one place?

As Roberto said “he loves the vibe there”, I have to agree. Being around successful people makes me want to strive for even more. Am I materialistic, I don’t think so. I don’t need or want a Bentley, but I want to be the best at what I do. Why is that? Hmm, I think it’s like a game, we are all players in the game of life, like it or not. Do you want to play to win or just squeeze by? I want to be on the winning team, it’s always more fun when your the one who scores the goal. Are you trying to score? I am.

People always seem to think being wealthy means you need to be selfish, a snob, or greedy? Why is it so wrong to be rewarded for the many hours you spend trying to achieve your goal? If the people who bitch about successful people got off their asses and put down that bag of Dorito chips, then maybe they would get somewhere to. Not all people are born rich, take a risk, try something new, and then you will know what successful people go through to get to where they are. It’s easy being “safe”, but it’s boring and you won’t get anywhere quick watching that rerun of Seinfeld.

Yikes, am I being crusty? I hope not! Just giving everyone a reality check, myself included. If your’e not happy in your current situation start doing something about it. Then go to the West Van Village and have a coffee, feel the positive energy, and take some home with you it’s free. Our lives are what we choose them to be. What are you choosing for yourself? Tell me.

And to the people in the Park Royal Village, good for you. You deserve the success you have achieved, your successes are an inspiration to me, and Roberto I’m sure.

What Do You Truly Want From Your Life?

where are you headed?Without a road map you have no clue where you’re headed right? The journey of life is best done with a destination point. Where do you want to be in 10 years, 10 months, or even 10 days from now? Do you have any idea what you want from your life? What do you envision for yourself in the next 10 years? Personally I plan on being able to be retired actually by 40 years old, just a little over 2 years from now.

I have had this thought since I was a cabinet maker way back in 1998-1999. I wanted to retire by 40, I had no clue how I was going to get there, but here I am 10 years later with the same dream but now its very close to becoming a reality.

How the hell did I do it?

The law of attraction has played an important role, even though I never knew it existed until about 2 years ago. Initially when I quit my carpentry job in October 1999, I had no income for the next 6 months. I busted my ass off in web design school, I had little computer training before this time and it was a struggle. I also had low self esteem, but I did have a drive to succeed. I didn’t want to go back to carpentry that would mean I was a failure, something I wouldn’t tolerate. I did anything in my power to learn everything I could so I would get a job after I finished my schooling.

I was the first person in my class to find a job, almost 2 months before graduation. And I was going to be making more than my previous job as a cabinet maker, I was soo happy. I made it through, never to go back to building cabinets ever again. I doubt many people had faith I could do it, hell I almost didn’t but the drive pushed me through.

And from then on in, it was still tough. I had lots to learn even after I finished my schooling, a totally different environment than what I was used to. I got laid off 5 times. It didn’t matter, I did what I had to to move forward.

I didn’t think things would go the way they did, but the law of attraction guided me through. Eventually I ended up working for myself then I learned about Google Ad Sense, affiliate marketing and so on. Was it easy to learn all of this stuff, hell no! But guess what, you need to know what you want in life, then and only then you will get it.

Would I take anything back in life, nope. Everything has worked out the way I wanted. Even being in a job I hated for 10 years taught me something, it showed me how to be grateful for what I have. It showed me what I don’t want in life and what I do want in life.

And let me tell you something, I was the guy who did shitty in school, never paid attention, skipped classes and so on. I wasn’t a bad kid but I just didn’t care about much. But if YOU have a dream, make it happen. Trust me when I say that you can do it, cause I am no better than you. You need to have a goal and you need to really want it to happen. You need to be driven , lazy people go watch TV.

Write down what you want in life, and pin up on your fridge. Look at it daily, then start doing things that will help you achieve your goal. Only you know what you want from life, everyones goals are different. Remember your goals don’t need to be financial, they can be anything that you want in your life.

Ask yourself these questions:

  1. What are your goals?
  2. Have you done anything to move towards them?
  3. What are you willing to do to reach your goals?

Why do I want to retire?

I don’t want to be 65 years old when I retire, that’s 27 fucking years from now. Why would I want to work until 65, does that make sense to you? I want to have a good life with my family, the ability to spend time with them in my 40s and so on. Working 8 hours a day leaves little time for a life doesn’t it? To me that is a jail sentence, and I want no part of it. I want my kids to have memories of their father being with them all the time. I don’t want to be a stranger to my kids, I want to be there with them. I’m lucky I work from home and they see me everyday, how many fathers have that luxury? I’m basically semi retired already and I wanted it to be this way.

How do you envision your life in the future? If you have no clue what you want from your life, then think about it and then leave me a comment. I want to know what you want from your life so tell me.
