Snowy Surprise & A Gift For Christmas

It’s 7:02 am and I have  awaken to a snowy day ahead of me. Since I was too lazy to change my custom rims for the snow tires in my garage I am confined to my small part of the world. Yeah I can probably drive in this white stuff called snow, but whatever.  I can just as easily walk to the library (free wireless there), and I will be visiting my sister in law and go meet my new niece.

Claudia (my brothers wife)  has given birth to a little baby girl with the awesome name of Chiara or Ciara, I am not sure exactly how it’s spelt but I love the name. I am happy for my brother and his wife, as well as my parents. First step when I leave the house is to go walk to Burnaby General Hospital, which is only about 4 blocks from where we live. And they even  have Tim Hortons in the hospital (my kind of hospital), lucky me.  Now my little kiddies have someone to play with when they go to Nonno and Nonna’s house, very cool.

Little Ciara was born earlier than expected, so I guess she will be considered our Christmas gift. I never really care too much about receiving gifts, but this is the type of gift I am more than happy to receive. Nothing brings more joy than a little baby…

Congratulations to Rob and Claudia, from your brother. C.V.

And the snow keeps on coming so I had to snap a few pics of it coming down.

First SnowFall In Vancouver December, 13 2008

Last night was damn cold and then the snow came. We had planned to go to a friends house in White Rock, and we were on the way there. We got onto Highway 97 just after North Delta and that was it, instant traffic jam and cars moved at a snails pace. I waited it out for a whole minutes when I said “F*ck this”, and did a u turn and headed back home. There was no way I was going to go to White Rock and hang our for 3 hours while it was coming down hard. With all the jackasses on the road I would of had a hell of a time getting back home later that evening. I cut my losses and went home instead. I called Bruno, apologized and that was it.

I then took a few shots from the beginning of the snowfall here in East Van, with my Canon SD 750 set at 1600 ISO (gives more light in dark conditions such as night time).  Below are the photos from last nights “snow storm”.

I can’t say too much for today, looks like an Arctic Wonderland from my office window. I would rather blog about the cold than be in it that’s for damn sure!

Michaels Christmas Decoration SuperStore?

Sue me, I have too much time on my hands if I can take digital photos of Christmas decorations at Michael’s. My wife had to go buy some “much needed” scrap booking supplies at Michael’s, so I went along for the ride… What is a guy to do inside a Michaels store? I mean seriously…. I had my trusty Canon SD750 by my side (wif’es purse actually), so I began snapping photos. People probably thought I was some creepy dude getting off looking at Christmas decorations, who knows right? I guess it does look a bit f*cked if you see a 30 year old guy snapping photos in a craft store. Anyhoo, I took some cool closeups of Christmas decorations in the store while I was waiting for my wife to choose scrap book paper, oh the joy!

Actually near Christmas I don’t mind going into Michael’s , the place is basically a massive Christmas decorators paradise. Yeah this is a booring post, I have nothing to say OK? Take a look at the coool photos below and then beat it!

….Oh yeah, I get to bike ride to the coffee shop on Kingsway in Burnaby and it might snow, wee how will that be!?
