Las Vegas Road Trip 2010 Vancouver To Vegas In 20 Hrs

Well it looks like people are interested in doing online marketing, so far the DJ that I have been doing online marketing for is slow. That is one problem I could have seen coming is the lack of traffic and searches for local searches as “Vancouver disc jockey”. Everything in life is about trial and error and you never know until you try. That’s ok though I have my second client sand will be starting on building a quick site to promote via paid marketing and start ranking for organic traffic.

Today, however I am preparing for the big road trip down to Las Vegas. The whole trip is a 20 hour drive from Vancouver and going through potato county (Idaho) and then to Las Vegas . We will be stopping in off in Boise, Idaho for the night and then be in Vegas by roughly 3-4 pm Friday. I am super stoked since the temperature is a nice balmy 28 celcuis! I can’t wait!

I have a whole list of people coming to visit, from my brother and his family, my mother in law, as well as my wife’s aunt and uncle. I have another friend going to down to Vegas who we will be meeting up with, as well as my 3 cousins and their spouses. It’s a full house. People from Vancouver love going to Las Vegas, it’s a cheap, quick get away.

Of course being the workaholic that I am, I will be working by the pool courtesy of the free wifi available from the clubhouse in my complex. I can’t wait to work by the pool, wee.

Well that’s about it for now. I need to do a bit of packing, then register a new domain name for the new local client that I will be doing online marketing for.

I took a screen shot from Google Maps of the exact route we will be taking to get down to Vegas. This is the 20 hours driving route, I could have taken the 1-5 route through Oregon and cut across Cali but I would rather save the 4 hours an drive through farm country. I can always take the scenic route on the way back if I want to.

How To Fix This: Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open

I’ve just been doing my thing and haven’t felt the need to post anything until now. I had a problem on one of my other blog, on the blog above the actual page this code came up:

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/tmp/sess_329b17e9a889bb7033f778a72dd2c5d3, O_RDWR) failed: No space left on device (28) in /home/stuff/public_html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-automatic-upgrade/wordpress-automatic-upgrade.php on line 119

It was frustrating since I’m really not much of a programmer, then I thought DOH I can do a search on Google for this. Sometimes I forget Google is there, don’t ask. I did some research and found a super fast fix, just delete all the crap in yout TMP folder on your blog’s server. I deleted all the temp files on my server, hit refresh on the blog and boom all back to normal.

update: I was having problems uploading images, this code would pop up: Invalid upload. Error Code : 6, on my WordPress blog on MotionGroove.com. It seems that deleting all the files in the temp folder have fixed that problem as well as fixed a problem I had with my category menu on my blog not being visible, strange. Oh well when it doubt clean out your temp files on your server, I learned that lesson loud and clear now.

I was searching for a free PHP url rotator this morning, and found the perfect php script . Note: this post is for people who do affiliate marketing others will fall asleep in reading the next paragraph. Ok, If you want to split test different affiliate offers, this is the easiest way to test more than one offer to see which one performs better. I def don't split test enough, I get lazy and complacent but I am going to be changing that with the use of this script. This is nothing new but now I have a script ready to go anytime I want it.

All you need to do is create an index.php file with just the php url rotator script below. You can easily create this in notepad and simply save it as index.php – then simply upload to the domain or folder where your ad is pointing. (The example below shows a split test of 3 links, but you can add/remove them as needed). I wanted something super simple and easy for me to update and this is it:
